The Boulder is a replica of the statues that are perched upon piers flanking the entry to the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, in Oak Park, Illinois, (1898). Wright collaborated with Richard Bock, to create the sculpture, which symbolizes the struggle of the opressed and shackled soul to break its bond, and find self-expression. Finished like the orginal is this reddish color. Frank Lloyd Wright is considered the most influential architect of the 20th century, a visionary whose ideas were well ahead of his time. Wright's creative designs presented a bold challenge to familiar habits. Today his influence is worldwide.
